Allen-Bradley Powerflex 4 & 5 VFD Lab 7 trouble

Having trouble completing Lab 7 on the Allen-Bradley VFD Training System?

Lab 7 builds upon the wiring that was completed on Lab 5 & 6. This Lab is inserted without specific directions intentionally! This lab is designed to allow the student to “think” their way through the logical thought process to determine a resolution.

As an instructor, you should review the AB User Manual included on your thumb drive, specifically the I/O instructions and the wiring connected to R1,R2, & R3. During Lab 7, changes to the wiring should not be required providing the previous labs were wired correctly. The student will simply connect one of the Ice Cube relays to the VFD in such a way that the green and red lamps with toggle when the drive is started.

Again, allow the students to “Think” through the process to complete the lab… Remember… Part of your job in teaching the class, is allowing the students to learn on their own!
